i heard some countries like mexico won't allow minors to travel alone.

She'll be picked up and staying with her grandparents.

Also what documents should she bring? Does she need a consent letter from me?

  1. I'm 15 and i just travelled by myself recently last June 15 and your daughter is considered an adult in this case all she need is a valid passport and the right visa to Taiwan. And it really depends on the airline she's taking.

  2. WOW! I can't believe that anyone would let their kid(s) travel by themselves! That is so insane to me!!! I have a 10 year old daughter & there is NO WAY IN h**l!

  3. Ok you will have to stay with her untill her plane actually takes off.

At check in you will need to fill out a document, but this is just to say that you allow your daughter to fly by herself.

When she arrives in her destination, she wont get in unless she has that address that she is staying at (so be sure to give her the address) and also her passport. and thats all she will need.

When she is coming back home to you, her grandparents will have to wait at the airport untill the plane takes off, and again, THEY will need to fill out the document to say she is able to fly by herself.

    Hope this helps

  4. well for me i was 11. i want to go see my grandparents. also i went to the bahamas and i am 13 i went buy my self

  5. Mexico does aloow  minors to travel alone.  Foreign minors entering and leaving Mexico, and many other countries are required to have a letter of permission from the parents.  You need to check with the airline you are using, but most allow 15 yr. olds to travel like adults.  She will need a passport and the letter of permission.  See sites below...on 2nd site scroll way down to bottom of page for section on minors.

  6. At minimum, she will need a valid passport.  I believe for Taiwan she will need a visa as well.

If both parents are not together, she will need a notarized letter from the non-custodial parent authorizing her to leave the country.

Those are the domestic requirements.  I could not find any pages on the Taiwan end that were not in Chinese, which I can't read.

  7. Yes, but she'll have to be smart about answering questions at the customs. Know where she is staying, and saying she'll be staying with her grandparents. Bring a valid passport, and a sealed and signed letter giving her permission to travel abroad alone from you just in case.
