Can my Brown Wood Turtle make me sick? ?

Can any sort of disease my brown wood turtle would get, then could it gte me sick?

salmonella. turtles have these. this can affect you, however a quick wash can keep you on the safe side. just make sure you wash your hands after you handle it.

salmonella is probably the only one unless the turtle is sick

just wash your hands before and after you touch the turtle and you wont get sick

Salmonelle is the only real threat for humans from turtles. And thats not nothing if you wash your hands before and after touching it. Dont kiss, or touch it then put your hands in your mouth. I have never personally got salmonelle thoug. Other than that do not worry there is nothing to get from the turtle directly. Now maybe paracites in the water could make you sick, but just make sure the water is always moving, or whirlpooling and you are fine. Also when you ask for care guide here, Pay attention to how many people have theres for "36" years,lol  everyone seems to have one that long. Now dont get me wrong, the generaly have good advice, but its just funny how that number is so common

you can catch salmonella pretty easily from any turtle so you need to wash your hands well after handling them

most turtles can carry salmonella but if u wash your hands after handling and dont put it in your mouth you'll be fine
