Can my Cocker Spaniel sense something is wrong?

My dad has been complaining about prostrate troubles again. He says he has found a lump, and he has got an doctor's appointment on Friday.

I have a 3 yr old cocker spaniel, and today (when my dad was out) he went up to my dad's chair, rested his chin on the chair and sniffed in the middle. He then looked up as if someone was sitting on the chair, and looked upset. I've never seen him do this before, and am wandering if he is trying to tell us something.

  1. Conduct prostate specific antigen (PSA) test.Normal values vary with age. Older men typically have slightly higher PSA measurements than younger men. African Americans normally have slightly higher values than white men.

    Normal value ranges may vary slightly among different laboratories. Talk to your doctor about the meaning of your specific test results.

    What Abnormal Results Mean:

    A high PSA level has been linked to an increased chance of having prostate cancer. However, a high PSA level does not mean that you definitely have prostate cancer. A high PSA level only identifies patients at higher risk of having prostate cancer. People at higher risk may need to have more tests.

    A PSA of 4 nanograms per milliliter (ng/mL) is abnormally high for most men and may indicate the need for a prostate biopsy.

    Keep in mind that although PSA testing is an important tool for detecting prostate cancer, it is not foolproof.

    Greater-than-normal PSA levels may indicate:

        * Benign prostatic hypertrophy

        * Prostate cancer

        * Prostatitis

        * Prostate infection

        * Urinary tract infection

        * Recent urinary catheterization

        * Recent urinary tract operation

  2. dogs seem to have  a sixth sense  that we do not understand.

    During WW2 i was in RAF and was given at very short notice 5days embarkation leave. Unable to inform my parents i was travelling home, unexpectedly, my dog started to act just as he did when i was at home, so strange was this behaviour that mother said to pa " Ken is coming home today". Don`t be daft said pa men do not get leave just like that. You can imagine the startled surprise in both of them when i turned up. How did that dog know?.

    I Know That When I Was A Little Girl, I Had A Seizure, And My Cat Came To My Crib And Started Howling Like Crazy Until My Dad Noticed And Called 911. I Don't Remember The Seizure, But I Remember The Howling!

    When My Mom Was Having A Stomach Problem, My Cat Was Right By Her Side!

    And I Took My Cat To My Grandparents House, And It Was On My Granddaddy's Last Summer, And My Cat Was All Over Him And l*****g Him And Meowing...

    They All Knew When Something Was Wrong.....

    They apparently pick up a smell that the person gives off prior to getting really ill and they l**k the person to alert them to test their insulin levels.

    Yes, I'd say that your dog knows that something is wrong.

  7. Dogs certainly can tell if you are off  on one or feeling ill.You can ,actually film the malady as it develops on a KIRLIAN camera.This films the flagging energy field radiating at the infected part of the body before physical manifestation is apparent.
