Question:

Can my Crohn's be bad for the baby? (Pregnancy and Crohn's Disease.)?

I'm sitting here in horrible pain. I know it's from Crohn's and it's not an m/c by location and type of pain. I'm debating on going to the emergency room, but I don't know how much good it will do because they normally give me steroids and pain killers, and they couldn't give me any of that (and I wouldn't take it if they did.) while I'm pregnant.

So my question is can my crohn's flare-up harm my baby? Or could the physical distress be harmful? And if so, should I go to the emergency room and hope that they have something that's safe for pregnancy that will help me?

  1. Yes you need medical intervention.  They may or may not be able to do much for you but they will be able to check the baby for fetal distress.  That is the most important thing.  Good Luck.
