Can my Directv remote control my Yamaha AV receiver?

I have a DirecTV remote model RC64R and I would like to have it adjust the volume on my Yamaha AV reveiver model HTR 6160. I tried all the published codes and have had no success. Both of these units are brand new models. Has anyone had any success?

  1. I doubt you will get that remote to run your NEW Yamaha....you'll probably have issues with the age of the remote and reciever...

    Call DirectTV and see if they will Upgrade you....
