Can my aeoniums be saved?

I live in Florida. My aeoniums looks gorgeous until 2 months ago. Leaves are dropping left and right. Any way to save them?

  1. I'd really focus on getting your plants out of too much humidity - I realise you're in Florida, so may not be so easy. If there's somewhere you have that is really sunny and possibly a little drier than elsewhere, then choose this and see how they get on. Aeoniums often have periods of near dormancy, even during summer when you'd expect them to grow, but leaf drop suggests issues of too much moisture, either at the roots - with potential root pot - or overall around the plant. If they are pot grown, check the roots if possible, to view their health. Ensure there is sufficient drainage there too, possibly adding some broken crock. Dont over-feed, as weak monthly feeding is fine for them- they're often just great without fertiliser, taking enough from their potting mix to grow well.

    If you suspect rot, I'd treat with an anti-fungal treatment, and possibly root promoter. You might even want to take some cuttings, if the roots are really poor, having rotted- don't use any stem cuttings with decay though.
