  1. depending on his level of maturity and who he's going with there shouldnt be any problems...


  2. With your permission he can live wherever he wishes. Without it - it depends. In some states they won't go look for a 17 if the parents know where he is living. They are NOT considered run-aways but only in some states in others the police will look for them but only to determine if they are ok, and in others they will make the 17 year old come back home.

    You can call the local police department and ask them - if they would look for him or not (if, only if you know exactly where he is living).

    If he leaves and you have no clue where he is -- they will look for him. But then his circumstances and the local law would determine if he was to be forced to come home.
