I just got a Commerce Bank ATM card and I was wondering whether or not this card will work to withdraw cash(Euros in this case) in Italy? It is not a Visa debit or crdeit card. It's a Commerce ATM card.

  1. It should as long as your bank lets you do international withdrawals. You need to let your bank know you will be using it there and they will let the charges go though. If you dont they may decline it.

  2. yes it will and at current rates

  3. You will need to Call Commerce before you leave.  Commerce does tend to block foreign transactions.

I am surprised that you got an atm card.  Their website does not say anything about an atm card.

Savings and Interest bearing accounts are limited to 4 transactions per month.

  4. It will work and will give a pretty decent rate as well.  Just be sure to tell your bank that you will using it outside the country  so will not have any problems withdrawing money from your account.  Have fun!

  5. As long as your ATM card is on one of the major international networks (almost all cards are; eg, Cirrus, Plus, Interlink, PLUS, ...), it will work here. In Italy, ATMs are known as Bancomats. Bancomats are easy to find almost everywhere. Using an ATM to access cash when you need it is recommended over carrying large amounts of cash - less risk. Very few places accept traveler's checks anymore.
