I have a campus edge banking account with bank of america and the minimun amount to open the account was $25 and I deposited $25.71 and I spent $13.05 on needs, not bs, and I am wondering will they charge me or close my account if I don't have the minimun amount in my account? I really need to know, because I have $11.69 in my account and when I check my balance it says -$2.29, are they charging me? Its my first account. Do I need to add more money to make it $25?

Thanks you in advcance <3

  1. All checkiing accounts have a monthly service charge.  If you fall below the minimum they may add an additional charge and/or close your account.

  2. Yes you do, you owe the bank $2.29 right now. They will probably charge you 30-40 dollars for over drafting, and then another 15 or so for not having the minimum amount.

If the account says a 25 dollar minimum, you better keep that minimum. Overdraft fees add up quickly.

Banks are serious about their money, and the fees they charge make it hard to escape. Go to the bank and get your balance up to 25 dollars.
