  1. Hopefully, with immediate treatment your cat will be OK.  You certainly did the right thing seeking veterinary care quickly.  Please don't be too hard on yourself.

Best of luck to you and your kitty!

  2. The fact he has the shakes means it has gotten into his system.  How well and soon he recovers will depend on how much got into him, either from grooming or through the skin before you washed it off.  It will also depend on his bodyweight (toxicities are calculated in amounts of chemical per grammes bodyweight of cat).  Cats' livers are very bad at detoxifying substances.

Believe me, this won't be the first time a vet has seen this so your cat is now in the best place.  They are likely to give him fluids to help him flush it from his system (by making him want to pee more so it will be flushed out quicker) and to make sure his electrolytes and blood sugar are okay since he won't be eating.  In poisonings, unless there are specific antidotes, vets can often only keep the cat warm, comfortable and hydrated while his body deals with it.  They prefer not to give any sedatives or other drugs because the cat's liver is already working hard to get rid of the toxic chemical.

I don't know specifics about the flea treatment, but I've collected case studies and data on tea tree oil which is toxic to cats, so I've based my answer on what I know from that.

  3. if your cat is at the vets. that is the best place for him right now.  next time read and reread and reread again before putting anything on or in your animal

  4. Sorry to hear about your kitty.  Now you just have to wait and hope your vet can help your kitty.

You could check the bottle and see if the company that makes the product has an 1-800

number and call them. They should know about the possible side affects from use of their product. I hope your kitty will be okay.

  5. The fact that You have taken him to the vets HOPEFULLY he will be ok but it will depend on how much has already got into his blood stream....Sadly he could die from this.

Please never ever use ANY Bob Martin flea treatment again. (cat or dog)

Only ever use Frontline, Stronghold, Advanage or something else from your vet.

I hope he is ok.....Please let us know x*x

    EDIT

    Thanks for the update,

I really hope that he is ok, the vet is doing all he can.

Was going to send you a message but you dont allow them !
