My son has a cdib card from the cherokee nation in Oklahoma. I'm having to send him to private school and was wondering if I can get assistance from the cherokee nation. Tuition is going to be between 600 to 800 bucks, which isn't cheap for Pre-k. Any ideas??

  1. Looking at the website (http://www.cherokee.org/Services/Educati... it appears that they offer many education programs but I didn't see any geared towards early childhood outside of their own Head Start program.  You should probably contact them directly to see if they can help you.

  2. Depending on where you live, you could send him to one of their early Head start programs for free. I've attached the locations below... as well as the income guidelines.

If you don't live in the areas listed, you could see if you qualify for daycare assistance through the regular DHS office in your area.

Private school at that age (or any age really) is really considered a luxury, although you didn't mention why you have to put him in private school.   You might be able to sign him up for Home based services as they mention on one of the sites.

Honestly, with the economy as tight as it is, any help you are going to find won't be in the form of cash to you.  It will be "support" services.
