Can my dad cash a check written to my name?

I got a refund check from a company written to my name, but the problem is I don't have a bank account, my dad has a bank account with bank of America, can my dad cash in the check for me? (I am 16 and the only ID I have is my school ID and birth certificate)

he can deposit the check into his account and give you the money, all you have to do is sign the back of the check...no ID required...

All the answers were good ones.  If your dad is a well known customer, he can sign your name, put "minor" in parenthesis and then sign his name under yours. Then he can cash it or deposit it and immediately withdrawal cash.

since your a minor i think you can cash it like on his account, meaning you don't have to pay to cash it.  If you go in with your dad and your identification stuff.

Yes, it will be possible for your dad

to cash your check for you-

provided you sign it first.

Then all he will need to do is sign

his signature under your name,

and then take it to his bank,
