  1. Fixing a camera can cost you at least $180, and goes up as the severity of the repair.  My Sony just needs a new flash bulbs, and it will cost me $280 to get it fix - a new one is $200. So now, I just gave my camera to my kid niece to use for outdoor/natural light photography/picture taking.

  2. Hi Pana,   sorry to hear about your camera.   I work at a camera repair shop and see so many cameras coming in after being dropped.   Most of the time.... dropping is the death of these little things,  which are not made to withstand any  type of impact harder than falling on the mattress.  Not kidding, unfortunately.  The best advice I can offer is to take it in to a camera repair facility and let the technician evaluate the damage and the estimate the cost of the repair.   It may be nominal,  or you may find out it is a better choice to use that money for a new camera.  In any case,  you will not know whether it can be fixed unless you let a professional check it out.   Shouldn't take more than a day to get your answer.  Hope that helps.

  3. That's not good.  Repair is costly on digital cameras.  Time to buy a new one.  Be more careful and use the strap on your next one.

  4. If the camera is still functional, which it is, then yes it can be fixed.

However if you're saying that the screen is light purple with lines going through it? Sounds like they'd either be replacing the LCD screen, or a PCB that controls the LCD, or both - in which case it will be very expensive. I'd recommend just buying a new one and selling this one on ebay as 'good for spare parts', you'd be surprised who scours ebay for spares... because it happened to me once!

    Good luck!
