Question:

Can my dog see something I can't??

I was in my room with my dog one day and I noticed he was looking at my dresser funny. Then he started barking and scratching at it, almost as if something something was there.I slowly put my hand in front of him and quickly moved it closer to his face, and he jumped 2 feet in the air! I looked under my dresser and pulled everything out from under it, and he was still scratching and barking at it.

Is it possible he is seeing something that I can't??

  1. odds are he can't see something you can't either, but he sure can smell stuff you can't and even hear things you can't

  2. Probably. Animals have not necessarily a wider sensory range but a different one than humans. For example, we can different colors but a dog's world is lacking in reds and greens; but while they are in some ways color blind they have a greater  field of vision.

But that aside, there are perhaps hundreds of cases, possibly  more where dogs have become aware of ghosts, UFOs, and other things the owner couldn't immediately see.  There's a biologist,  Alister Hardy, as well as others think that psychic sensitivity formed in animals even before their  physical senses. So, yeah, there's a great chance your dog can see things that you can't when it comes to psychic or spiritual things.

  3. Hear or small more likely

  4. They have a better senses than we do. They see more than we do, hear more than we do and they also and sense other things if you know what i mean. Dogs can predict volcanic eruptions too.

  5. Move your dresser to the other side of the room.At least if he stays in that one spot..you'll know it wasn't something in the dresser. If he goes to the dresser...then I would take the dresser apart and let him sniff each drawer and each part of it. See which part he barks at. Has he always been your dog? Could he have an another owner? If so..that might have something to do with it.

  6. I wonder the same thing sometimes. I htink you may be right. My dog does this too.

  7. Yes. Although, I'm not sure if they "see" something, but they definately have a sense that we don't.

  8. I have a friend who is blind ,and he has a seeing eye dog . Anytime his dog would enter my house ,he would be very unsettled ,and keep barking at my stairs . My friend being blind also had a heightened sense of things ,and he too felt uneasy in my house .  I contacted a local psychic in my area ,and she told me that animals ,and children mostly are more aware of things then we are .

  9. I always thought the same thing. It would be my assumption as well. But I don't know.

I take it the same thing happens to you as my previous dog?

He did the same thing alot before he died, but that was just a window.

  10. Yes, animals and small children can see and hear things we cannot. My cats follow something that seems to fly through my house. I kept thinking it was a fly or bug, but they have gotten close enough to me that I can tell it is nothing I can actually see. My daughter said it is faeries.

I agree with one of your other answers, try moving the dresser, see if it is the dresser or the spot he is disturbed by.

You can always do a cleansing prayer or spell to get rid of whatever it is.

OH, I love the fact that you moved it quickly to his face. That must have been funny.

  11. Not seeing anything you aren't.  Don't forget dogs have much better hearing and smell that humans.  The dog could be hearing something outside and perceive it as coming from the dresser.

Another thing.  The dogs got you to do what it wanted.  So now it has become sort of learned behavior.  Maybe it is just seeking attention.

  12. He probably isnt seeing something you are not, but he might smell or hear something that attracts him. You either cant smell it or hear it, or you aren't paying attention.

For vision, dogs go after movement, this is called the prey-kill instinct. It allows them to catch frisbees and such. This could mean mice. It could be a scent from a heater or vent.

Sometimes its real hard to figure out what a dog is barking at because they cant talk and tell us.

I can only guarentee you that you will never find it, if you think it is something paranormal. Dogs do not sense ghosts, contrary to popular legends and tales.

  13. Your question reminds me of another one.  "Why does a dog l**k his privates? " Answer:  Because he can!

  14. Yes, they do. =P

    TAIMA !! lmao

  15. I believe that animals can sense and see things that we don't, but you also have take into consideration that it could also come in the form of a mouse or something else easily explained.  but it's been said that just like younger children, animals also have that 6th perception of things some adults don't.

  16. I say yes definitely but you may be missing the clues you give. If this is always by the dresser or bed I'm pretty willing to bet that what your dog senses is in the wall not the furniture and that's why you can't find the source. It's probably an animal or water/pipe problem in the wall. I would lay money on it. Do not discount the possibility of an electrical problem either. My friends dog did the same thing in her home for 3 years and her house started on fire in that wall due to bad wiring. Some dogs can predict seizures or sense when their owner has a medical problem. They have a sense we don't. It's not randomly fun to bark at a dresser or bed. Something is there. Reward your faithful friend and investigate it like you are. good luck. Hope this helps.

  17. Yes your dog was horrifyed by ur skidmarked underwaer hahahahahahahahaha

  18. Dogs are generally more sensitive to paranormal phenomena then humans, the advanced senses of hearing and smell and all. It's possible that he is sensing something. Why don't you take pictures of it the next time he does that and see if anything shows up. Or, you could leave a recording device there one night and see if you catch anything.

  19. Dogs can sense danger, physical and paranormal. I would check the physical out first - leaks (water, gas) electrical short, rodents, bugs - before you decide that it may be paranormal. Dogs hear at very high frequencies, and can separate smells something new in the environment gets them excited.

  20. Yes but as long as it isn't bothering you, don't worry.

  21. Perhaps your best friend had reason to do this.

Moreover sometimes dogs can somehow inform their owners of different things /not only by instict for direct dangers /.

Just bear this in mind - /I have a friend that can somehow hear at their   wowing fone info from the surroundings- some ..th .sens based on her great love for nature and dogs

  22. Yes all dogs even yours can see things we can't cause, dogs have a almost like 6th sences just like the movie. Sometimes my dogs bark at nothing too.
