I was pulled over for going 51 in a 35mph zone the officer gave me a "notice to appear" to court. I recently received my courtesy letter in the mail and it says that my bail amount is $273. I have no intentions of fighting the ticket but is there any chance that if i go to court will my fine be lowered if i decide to go to traffic school?

  1. The fine will NOT be lower just because you decide to do traffic school.  HOWEVER, you should really consider doing traffic school school because it will save a point going on your record and getting hit with an enormous ($30-300) Insurance rate increase!!!

Good news is you can do traffic school ON-LINE.  I would recommend http://www.TicketRelief.com. They were quick, easy, and I completed my schooling in a day!

  2. the letter should tell you if traffic school is an option, but in most cases that is an additional fee paid to the courts. the reason for this is: the court is giving you a chance to prevent your insurance from going up.

the way to lower the fine, would be to go to court. tell the judge right away that you are not trying to fight the ticket but plead with him to lower the fine (tell him you cant afford it).
