My friend got Ds and Es for AS Level and really wants to study English at Kent university (England). Although it says that you need 300 points and atleast a B in english. Can anyone tell me if she is likely to get rejected because of those bad AS level results.

  1. I hope not. If universities started accepting students with such grades, standards would plummet even further.

It would also be an insult to all those who worked hard to get the required grades.

  2. Her AS Levels don't matter so long as her A Level scores are good enough - 300 points is equivalent to BBB, ABC or AAD. If these scores are feasible there is no reason poor AS results should affect her application. However if she is likely to gain similar results to her AS Levels in her A Levels, there is no way she will be accepted at any good university, sorry.

  3. I think you answered your own question. D's and E's are far below B's.
