  1. Talk to your commanding officer to find out how part of your pay can be sent to her. If sailors can send pay to their mothers and wives, I'm sure a grandmother can also receive pay.

  2. Hi Jubilee

I don't think so, but check with your c/o or the navy's advocate.

My brother, who just retired wanted to do some thing similar for me because I am disabled,  but he was told he could only do it  for his dependents, so he wanted to claim me as a dependent, but I told him no I didn't want to be his burden,  I love my brother I couldn't do that to him.  Maybe you can claim your grams as your dependent that way you might be able to get what you want for her.  check it out, you never know.

Good luck and take care....Keep the faith....PEACE....cya....

  3. Yes it is possible. she just has to have a bank account. you need to know her account number and the financial institutions routing number.

  4. Yes,or at least when I was in you could send an allotment to any family member that you wanted to. I got out in 82 however so things might have changed since then.

  5. It's so nice that you are helping your grandmother!  This information was on military.com.  You have to complete the required form that is available from the link below.

All active duty servicemembers, midshipmen, cadets, and reservists on EAD are eligible to make allotments from their pay.

A "discretionary allotment" is a voluntary allotment that is setup by a member and may be stopped, started or adjusted at will. Members are authorized no more than six discretionary allotments.  This includes:

    - Voluntary payment to a dependent or other relatives.
