  1. Not really. Most animals don't have a concept of death. The animal might recognize the other one is gone, but it doesn't necessarily know why it is gone or that it is dead.

  2. I think so?!?!?!?

  3. Yeah they can tell. My cat has a profound relationship with my dog, and when they each come from the vets, the other is l*****g and fussing around the other. So I would say they can definetely tell, for sure!

    P.S. Sorry for your loss.

  4. Yes, they often will be lonely and depressed and you may need to get him/her a replacement friend or spend lots of times with him/her.

  5. Some animals have a sense of this.

He probably senses the loss of his friend.  Sorry to here about your guinea.  Maybe get him another one.

  6. Yes he can tell. If he has been with her his whole life he will eventually die from lonelyness. I suggest you get another guinea pig and a small cage and put the cages beside eachother for a couple days. Then move them into the same cage and hope they will be good pals that live a long happy life :)

  7. Yes! They can tell. They become very fond of their Friends/play mates and when they lose them they are truly sad. I would get him another play mate or Friend because they can get depressed or unfortunately die when they lose their friends. I'm very sorry you lost one of your guinea pigs. You don't necessarily have to buy another one, because you can just play with them as much as possible and they wont be lonely as much and that makes them happy to have someone to play with. You should probably make some time everyday to play with your guinea pig for a little while. not just a few minutes but anywhere from 45 minutes to a an hour and 30 minutes or longer. Good luck!

  8. probably..mayb u should pay him some more attention for a while keep him occupied :)

  9. animals are intelligent too you know

  10. probably, it is probably hard for her/him

  11. yes they can

  12. Yeah, when the other one starts to mold. He will be able to tell.

  13. He knows try extra attention for awhile they need companionship but can be aggresive when introducing another piggy so if that is an opption remove piggy and introduce in a pen such as large open box old playpen or some such enclosure watch for a while 2-3 hours before caging together always with all animals introduce on neutral terf

  14. I think that he can sense that she is gone.  Just because he is an animal doesn't mean that he cannot sense her missing.  I would pay more attention to him then normal for awhile.  It is up to you though on whether you want to get him another companion, but if you do introduce them slowly to each other.

  15. Only if you are a guinea pig yourself!

  16. Yer Iam Pretty Sure He Does Have A Brain After All But Anyways
