Can I put my hands over the net to either block or to spike? I know I can't touch the net, but the whining bunch on the other side got twitchy when I spiked a ball onto ones head, and decreed that you can't play the ball if it is not on your side of the net. I think they are wrong.

  1. no you can't reach over the net

  2. Sorry - you can't reach over the net...

"Any player may carry out an attack-hit at any height, provided that his/her contact

with the ball has been made within the player’s own playing space".

  3. No, it is roofing, and your must remain on your side of the net. Think of it this way: your feet can't go over, so why can your hands? When spiking, make sure your approch is far enough away so you aren't over the net, and when blocking get up and press in, but just on (your side) of the net. Best of luck!

  4. i score kept the season this yr so...you have to wait for the ball to come onto your side as soon as it crosses to your side u can hit it...its how people get their fingers broken when trying to block

  5. I am an official and no, you cannot perform that action. It is not permitted.

  6. No, They will say they touched the net or they will give you a foul type thing

  7. no they cant go over or touch the net.

  8. you have to put your hands straight up when you block

u cant put your hands over the net

  9. no you may not.

  10. You may reach over the net to block if they are sending the ball in your direction or if they have used their three hits.  You may not reach over the net to block if they are still playing the ball.  (As in blocking the set.)

You may follow through on your spike over the net.

It sounds like you reached over the net to spike a ball that was still on their side.  That is not allowed.
