Can my hdmi cable automatically tell my TV to switch to a certain input, in the same way SCART does?

With a SCART cable plugged in between my satellite box and TV SCART would automatically send a signal to the TV to tell it switch to that source. I thought HDMI would be able to do the same? If i plug a scart and an hdmi in will the TV select the 'best' source?

No sorry. Its a great thing the HD cable but it has downsides one being that you have to change it to the input manually.
