Can my horse barrel race?

my horse has arthirits in his front left leg. can he still barrel race? he is a pleasure horse but the fastest time i have had with him is 32 seconds. but can he barrel race? can he gallop with an arthiritic leg?

He can gallop but it wouldn't be a good idea. You could cause him to be in more pain or even become lame. Barrel racing isn't just running fast in a straight line, your horse has to be able to cut sharp turns and gallop at the same time. I would keep him as a pleasure horse and hope that you can get another horse that you can barrel race with.
