Can my husband still keep his Permanent Residence card, if we separate?

My husband and I got married almost 1 year ago, and everything seemed fine but not even less then 1 month of being married his attitude changed not to mention how fast he came up with money to be able to submit all the paperwork for his permanent residence card right away. He started becoming abusive- verbally and physically, and he doesn't make me feel like he loves me or even cares about me. I'm beginning to think he married me only to get a Permanent Residence Card... What can I do in this situation? Will he still be able to keep his card? I feel used....

  1. Yes he can still keep it.

  2. I  will  call  Immigration  and  the  POLICE  if  you  need  to,Do  not  hesitate Do  it  right  away if  the  next  abuse  happens.I  am  sorry  to  be  the  one  to  tell  you  this ...   I  think  the  reason  he  Married  you  is  for   The  GREEN  CARD  it  self  ,GO  figure,It's  your  call  ........  observe  and  see  what  else  what  else  will  come  out  of  this    .I  will  start  making  Phone  calls  now  if  it  still  in  the  process  or  you  are  to  be  hated  by  your  YOURSELF,Call  authority  for  abused  They  can  still  do  something  about  it  if  you  HURRY,Sorry  to  hear  this  I  know  you  are  hurt  BUT; you  are  the  only  one  who  can  FIX  this .

  3. If you are in the US, he has a conditional 2 year card and if you dump him, he might have a hard time renewing that card to a permanent one.

If you are in Canada, he's in to stay and you better hope he doesn't go on welfare 'cause you would have to pay.

In any case, if he's abusive to you, leave him.  You deserve better.

  4. If you think that, you should tell that to the USCIS people and it will be harder for him to get a permanent green card.
