Can my insurance go up if I am rear ended and it's the other driver's fault?

I was stopped at a light, guy kept going right into my rear bumper

As long as the accident was not your fault, and your insurance company doesn't have to pay out any money for the repairs, your insurance will not go up.  The only way your company would have to pay for repairs is if the person who caused the accident doesn't have any insurance.  Then your insurance company would have to pay for your repairs, and there is the possibility that your premium will go up.  Your ins. co. will also go after the other guy and sue him to get their money back, and if they do, your premium shouldn't go up.


  2. As long as you don't have alot of these type of accidents, your insurance shouldn't go up.  If it does, you may want to find a more reputable insurance company.

  5. You are not at fault. Since the other driver slammed into when you were at a complete stop.  Your insurance should not go up it was the other guy. His will go way up.  If yours goes up I would question your insurance company. Your Insurance company will go after the other guys company.
