a window came up while I was reading a web page...tried to canel but started web scanning, security warning... I've checked into www.spyware-techie.com & bleepingcomputer.com/malware, looks like the removal instructions are for PC. Note, I do have Microsoft XP, but have NEVER downloaded anything while in window... can I still get this spyware on my Mac? Not sure what to do, please any advise???

  1. there are no antivirus softwares for Macs because of the different system

if you're using windows on a Mac, you are prone to any virus out there. if you dont have an antivirus on your XP, you should go get one. You dont necessarily have to download something to get a virus. visiting some webpages can give you viruses too.

  2. Remove mac os x and keep windows.
