Can my landlord cash a check today when it won't clear till tomorrow?

If the funds are clear tomorrow and he pays it into an account today then that will be fine but if he cash's it for cash and you don't have the money in your account until tomorrow then you will probably incur charges

Unless your both using the same bank, it won't matter. It will take up to three days for the check you give him to get back to your bank. If your using the same bank it will post the same day and your funds won't be there.

Checks "clear" almost immediately nowadays.  Don't write it if you don't have the funds available.  And postdating won't help.
