  1. why do u need to upgrade to vista, any program written for vista will work on xp, (not the otherway around) plus if your computer was designed for xp, vista (esspecialy vista ultimate) will be extremly slow.

If its a recovery disk, probably not.  most recovery disks are encoded to only work on the computer it was designed for.   if its a MS Vista disk, from microssoft,  then it will work, just make sure you download the drivers for your nic before you do the installation, and save the file on a cd or usb drive, otherwise you wont have internet access.  if after the installation, if u need additional drivers you can just download them, but u need to make sure you have the drivers for nic before u do anything.

  2. just put the VISTA cd in while you have it turend on in Xp either wait for autoplay or open the CD and click on setup.exe or instal.exe,

But if it is just a Recovery CD with no operating system on it,,,It will not work either way ,,while you have XP the Vista Recovery will not work..

  3. it depends on your computer's options, I mean on the RAM and the Processor, and the VGA card that you have,

but as your saying that your computer runs XP originaly, then you might have to upgrade it with a 32bit version,

but anyway the version you should use should a usual vista version, because you are saying that its a recovery cd which means that it will format your computer and install the drivers of the computer that this recovery disk came with.

so it won't work properly,on your computer and it will change the defualt drivers of your cards and peaces in your computer,

so I would advise you of not doing that unless you have a good knowledge in tichnical stuff.

but anyway if you are doing that, becarful, you shouldn't use the recovery cd of some other computer...

hope that I was helpfull to you

    good luck

  4. Hm... Recovery CD's are usually made per manufacture of the Laptop. I see a few problems, each laptop is made differently, different drivers and different software. I'm sure you could mess up the laptop if you try to recover with a CD that has vista on it =\.

  5. VERY simple answer without all the details....no
