Can my mom cash my savings bonds?

I have a lot of savings bonds that people got me when I was a baby. I'd like to cash them in when I'm done with college next year and use them to pay back some of my loans. However, my mom has all my bonds and her name, as well as mine, are on some of the bonds since I was a baby when people got them for me. If her name is on them, does that mean she can cash them without me? Because I have a feeling she is going to try and not give me my money, even though I really need it to help pay back my school! Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?
