I'm not sure if she'll file for it, but I'm concened for our family. Will she get like extra benefits because she has two kids, one going into 10th grade (me) and one starting her first year of college, and my dad is legally blind so not many places want to hire him? She got fired for no reason (i checked and she could qualify for that). I'm not sure if she's even considered unemployment, but I'm really scared for our family because she's the one who makes the money =[ I'm also really paranoid so please, help!

  1. Unemployment benefits are strictly based on the salary that was earned while employed. Dependents or personal situation doesn't affect the amount paid.

I understand your concern, but it is not your place to worry about how your mom is going to proceed. It is possible that there is more to it than you know, or that she wants you to know. It's best to stay out of it.

It's really important for you to accept the fact that the matter is not yours to fix. It's beyond your control.

Worrying changes nothing. It just makes us miserable.

It sounds like your mom has taken care of things in the past and no doubt will in the future. It's times like this that it is important to have faith that things will work out.

I know that it's really scary and stressful for you. But you must believe that things will work out. They always, always do.
