She is disabled and does not have her own bank account so she wants to be able to use mines since I take care of all the household things and make sure the bills are paid and all. It would be a hassle for me to try to physically take the check to the bank because they would need her to come and sign off on something but she is unable to get in and out like she used to and she can't really use her hands to write anymore. We are in the process of me getting Power of Attorney but in the meantime, ca she have her checks direct deposited?

  1. just put her name on your checking account duhh!!

  2. No company or goverment office will direct deposit funds to an account that does not bear the name of the recipient.  Your best bet is to have a joint account with your mother if you take care of the finances in the house.  If getting her to the bank is a struggle, call your bank manager and see if they will make an exception and do a house call in her case.

  3. maybe put her name on your account ask the bank they should know.
