Can my motherboard support this graphics card? :c?

It supports 1 xPCI-E x16, 2 xPCI-E x1, 3 xPCI.

I read I can purchase a PCI Express 2.0 x16 graphics card because they're backwards compatible? What does that mean?

Cheers for any information.

  1. Let me give you an example, lets say your computer has a graphics card that is a 1xpci-e3 an each year the come out with a newer updated card 2xpci-e3 and then 3xpci-e3 what it means is that any graphics card they make in a newer version will fit and work on your computer, chance are that the new card will come with a cd for you to download the proper drivers for it to work, or you would have to go to there web site to download them, A NOTE: It is always a good idea, with ANY software to check the manufactures web site every month or 2 for any updates or upgrades to there software, This will save you a ton of headaches if you start doing this tip.

  2. a PCI-E 2.0 card will work on any PCI-E slot, thats 1.0, 1.0a, 1.1 etc.

the card won't work at its highest potential, but it will work.
