Question Details: My neighbor lives across the street but on the corner of two streets. Because he is lazy he parks his car in front of my house instead of the other street because it is closer to the door he enters his house. He is not disabled or anything. The space in front of his house is not illegal. Can I get his car towed because it is in front of my house.

The car is disgusting and smells literally.

  1. If he isn't breaking the law no you can't.  However, you could go ahead and ask him to move it from out in front of your house.  Simply stated if you don't own the street he is parking on then he can park there.  Most homeowners would put there garbage can or something in his way and ask him to stop.  He would then get the message finally.

  2. No. It is a "Public Right of Way", not you private property.  If it is not running, or has expired tags, you can get it impounded.  Otherwise, try to make friends with the guy, then ask him nice to wash it.

  3. If it's public property you are out of luck, but you might "accidentally" let some air out of the tires, key it, etc..  Or park your car in front of his.

True story:  A few years ago my neighbor sold his house and had a garage sale to sell his c**p.  I opened my garage door to run an errand, and a car is blocking my driveway.  I politely state over at the savages at the garage sale that the one blocking my driveway needs to be moved.  An obese broad pipes up and says she'll be done shopping in a few minutes, like I was going to wait.  I said no, you'll move it now or I'll find someone to tow it.  She came around and brought her fat, disgusting blob of a body over and moved it, but not without a dirty look.  People are selfish idiots.

P.S. - I also suggest trying to get your dog to p**s on it.  Also feel free to spit a nice green blob on the driver's door handle.  That's how I handled people who used to park in my reserved spot at my office.

  4. If it's parked legally, you can't do anything about it.  See if it has a valid inspection sticker or plates on it.  If not, call the police.  They can have it towed.  If it bothers you, park you car there so he can.  Maybe he start getting used to parking near his house.

  5. Unless the city has restricted parking on the street, which would mean you can not park there either, he can park there on the street. It is after all a public street, not a reserved spot for you.

Placing a garbage can or cones or other obstruction in the street will earn YOU a ticket.

  6. If you live inside the city limits, there may be a city ordinance that regulates this. There is an ordinance in my city that states the vehicle will be parked in a resonable manner within your property and it will not block a driveway. Check for any such ordinance in your jurisdiction. Or....park your vehicle there until he decides to find a different place to park.

  7. Nope!

  8. Well if you tow his car, be prepared for retaliation.  You may best be suited asking him not to park there... tell him that it is killing your grass or some other logical explanation (or you could just say don't park your S***box car infront of my house".  But chances are what he is doing is not illegal since your property line is actually in several feet off the street.

  9. Does this really bother you that much? There has to be other things that are just a little more important to worry about.
