Can my phone company trace a call that shows an unknown ID?

I get calls from this unknown number and it hangs up when i answer. The caller id is unknown, can my phone company trace the call for me?

Most of the unknown calls can be traced if you have got the feature called call trace,

you have to dial a star code as soon as you receive this particular call, however if the calls you get are computer generated numbers then its pretty hard for the telephone companies to trace the call.

well  from experience theyll trace the call just call them and explain the sit.. and theyll add call trace to youre line and when you get the call you push the*# they gave you and itll trace it no matter who or where its from and all in all its under 5 bucks a month

No, if its showing up unknown to you, it is also unknown to the phone company.

What you CAN do however, is request the feature called Anonymous Call Rejection, that will prevent the caller from getting through. If you already have it on your phone, press *77 to activate.
