  1. Yes, of course. But you have to do things a little differently. First, you probably want to invest in a good carpet cleaner (I find that Natures Miracle works best). Clean the spots *very well* with the carpet cleaner, and if your dog still seems attracted to those spots, put a small amount of vinegar on them. It will mask the smell from your puppy.

I know how you feel about the crate training, but if you can't be home all the time, its best to use a crate. Don't leave her for more than a few hours at a time (depending on how old she is), and be sure to take her outside to potty right when you take her out of her crate. Praise her like *crazy* for going outside (I mean, make a huge deal out of it), and pretty soon, she should get it. Check my source for a really helpful article on how to properly crate train, from the HSUS. Best of luck! :)

  2. You can actually predict when the accidents will happen...

If you feed your dog, let's say, 3 times a day...She'll have to poo within an hour of eating...If you leave her bowl down all day long, there's no way to predict when she has to go...

If you know that you have to leave the house, take up her food and water within an hour of you leaving and you just won't have any accidents.. :-)

But if you have to leave for more than 2 hours, you HAVE to leave water and there's nothing you can do about the accidents...

  3. Accidents are a sign of weakness in house training.  I would go ahead and crate her anytime that she couldn';t be watched.  Why allow mistakes to become bad habits?  She needs to learn proper housetraining before she earns her freedom.  Be patient and consistant.  Inconsistancy in allowing her to have breaks in housetraining can lead to some difficult issues in the future.

  4. Just stay regular, every 20 to 30 minutes taking him/her out for a pee or p**p.

Always be cheerful with let go outside or lets go pee and p**p.

and when he/she does do it`s business its Good pee or p**p. Give lots of praise.

Your pup will be sure to catch on.

As well if you know you have to go out at a certain time pull your dogs water up about 2 to 3 hours before leaving.

This method works well at night when you go to bed as well.

    Good luck and God bless
