If I got a playpen for my Flemish Giant and put him outside for a while maybe everyother day, would he like that or is it bad for him? Also, is Nutriphase for rabbits good? It has a rating of 5 out of 5 by over 30 people. And its really cheap. 15 bucks for 50lbs.

  1. Hmmm this depends if you have a dog and wees and poos on the grass id say no bt if you just have a rabbit i would say yes ok, but if you going to let it eat grass from out side id get some injections done so it cant pick up any diseases.

  2. Outside grass is great for rabbits! Rabbits would normally eat grass if they were not pets....I mean think about it...where do you see rabbit pellets growing in the wild (that's a trick question)? If your rabbit has not had a lot of fresh grass lately introduce him slowly (about 5 min a day for the first week, 10 min the second week...ect.). If he is not used to fresh grass and he gets a lot of it all of a sudden...he may get diarrhea.

Any rabbit food on the market should be fine for your rabbit. If you also give your rabbit fresh grass and fresh veggies and fresh fruit with the rabbit pellets, you should have nothing to worry about.

         Good luck.

  3. more than likely OK--no fertilizer--no chemicals--etc.--might want to check with your vet for worming pills or shots for that before you let them munch away

  4. First, check grass history. (haha, that sounds funny)

Anyway, make sure it hasnt been sprayed with pesticides  for at least ONE year. You hear me? ONE, complete year. Even if you think it doesn't matter because the rain washes it away, the grass soaks it up and since rabbits are generally sensitive to any substances that arent supposed to be in its stomach, this is really important. next time the chem-lawn guy comes to your house, chase him away with a rake. if you are sure the grass is ok, he would LOVE it! (i know my bunny does.) In the fall, they also like biting up dry leaves =] Be careful what you feed them though- here is a link of the foods and plants that are poisonous to them. http://www.allearssac.org/poison.html

As far as Nutriphase, it sounds like a decent brand. My rabbit uses Vita-Kraft, (or sumtin like that, i forgot the name) and before has used Kaytee. I find that because i only feed my rabbit a small handful of pellets and more veggies every day that the pellets dun reli matter that much. Oh, and only start giving him grass after 16 weeks of age. If you find you can't put him on the grass b/c of pesticides, then put him on some concrete. does a reali nice job of trimming nails.

  5. yes, and, no its totaly ok if there isnt any fertlizer or pestides on the grass otherwise you may have a problem and heres another idea if you dont want to take that risk when you go to walmart or mijers go to the pets/rodents ile  for a buck you can buy a cartoon labbled pet grass you can grow the grass yoourself and clip off the top every once in a wile and feed it to ur bunnies that way youll kno 4 shure if it has chemicals in it
