Can my rat have vegemite?

Question

I want to give my rat Vegemite, some vegemite? Does anyone know if it is harmful?

Btw. She is pregnant, and really young, I just got her from the pet shop today, Any ideas on food combinations? She seems to like chicken :) I assumed its good protein wise.

You shouldn't feed her anything besides rat food and some fruits and vegetables as treats. Vegemite is disgusting, your rat probably wouldn't like it anyway.

I don't think rats can catch vegemite from humans bue why would you want to infect the poor little thing anyway???

rats will eat almost anything....ive even seen them eat electrical wire!!   however..you can try a bit of vedgemite...it is basicly vedgetable extract and salt....if she likes it>>>Then fine...make sure she has lots of water to drink!!

I think rats can have vegimite cheek with an expert just in case

i use to feed my mice vegemite. just a little bit on the end of a spoon. they l**k it all off slowly. they liked it. just dont put it on your finger!

well i don't think it will do any harm. i put nutella and peanut butter on my finger and my mice love that, the only reason i haven't tried vegemite is because i thought it would be a bit too strong for them by its self??

but it most likely won't be bad for her and her pregnancy wouldn't matter either :)
