Question:

Can my son be covered? PLEASE HELP!?

i have blue cross under my fathers policy, i just had a baby and my son is not covered under that policy.

i have already brought him to the doctors, we are trying to get his insurance under mass health. if he is excepted under mass health will they pay these bills that i have been getting?

Right now you are considered a dependant under your dad's insurance.  As far as my dealings with BCBS, only you would be covered......not your child.  Your maternity visits and labor should be covered but I think there is a time stipulation on how long they will cover the actual child.  Search BCBS.com and pull up your dad's coverage and see what that time frame is.  You are going to have to get insurance on your own now that you have a child. Or quite possibley the state would give you some assistance. I'm guessing you are a single mom. Also, the state will eventually get money from the father to cover the medical costs.

  3. They might go back as far as three months with your bills......what about covering your baby under his fathers policy?? If that's an option, then you should do that.

  4. No private insurance will retroactively pay for services rendered prior to the effective date of coverage.  Is mass health a state or private plan?
