If so, what's the best way we can cover it that will stay on in the water? He's just learning to surf, and we haven't come across this situation before! I'm worried about the sand getting driven up into the open wound.

  1. "worried about sand getting driven up into the open wound?"  Last time I checked a blister was not a wound...it was a blister.  Does you kid live in a bubble?  What are you going to do when he starts driving?

  2. seawater is fine for wounds - you can get elasterplast and they are cotton, strong, bandage type plasters.

  3. If you only saw the kind of wounds that I used to

go surfing with, don't be such a worry wart, he'll

    be fine.

  4. yes star child your son can go surf cause the salt water will help healed the blister .

  5. if its not bleeding the salt water will help it.

  6. yea, but check the bacteria count in your papers.  if its right after a big rain, a lot of bacteria gets swept into the ocean, and if its an open blister, that could cause infection.  i surf with all kinds of open wounds all the time, but i always think twice if the water it poo-ey.
