Can my sony tv be damaged in anyway if it is fairly warm

i play my ps3 on my sony bravia hd lcd tv

When i run my palm over the top of the tv, which is where it has line gaps, i feel a warmish hotish air coming out

Do you tink playing the ps3 on the tv for around 5 hours a day could damage the tv serverly

im worried

what is going on and what should i do. Ive only noticed today, ive played for around 30 min, and my mum started dusting the tv, and she felt it was warm, so i stoped playing, Also, the tv was being watch by different people from my family, from teh hours of 8:45 - 12:00

thanks for your help, if you helped

  1. it shouldn't cause damage as long as the TV is not overheating, make sure nothing is covering the vents from which air is escaping from the tv as all the hot/warm air is released from here in order to ventilate the TV. However if you are playing PS3 for long continuous periods its better for you to take a 30min break as to let your TV and PS3 cool down and its better for your health aswell. Also you can check the manual regarding stuff like this they normally have it near the end. If your TV or PS3 ever randomly turns off its most likely due to the apparatus overheating and turning itself off to cool down, if that happens then yes you might cause some damage in the long run but i think manufactures know that there goods are going to be used for large amounts of time and therefore have put in a good fan system to keep everything cool and running so dont sweat it

  2. naaa. I also have a sony tv mines a 20" and its in my room i leave it on all the time and i use it all of the time because i use it as my pc monitor as well. Mines is always hot i can feel heat coming out from the screen.

Just turn it off at the plug when ever your not using it or when u leave the room but want ur p3s to carry on running just turn off the tv

  3. you use the TV too much...give it a rest
