Can my syrian hamster have play dates with other syrians?

i have a female syrian that's about a 1 1/2 years old. can she have 'playdates' with other syrians? {my friend is getting one}

No. You can never house a syrian hamster with another syrian or any other species of hamster or rodent.

They are very solitary animals and will fight.

don't put them 2gether! they can only be together if they are both in their separate cages or balls or something where they can't escape and hurt one another. thats all

no she cannot, syrian hamsters are strictly solitary and will fight if they see another hamster. if you want the two hamsters to have fun, try a hamster ball race with your hamster and your friends hamster

Yes, but keep them away from the Lebanese and Israeli hamsters.

OK, j/k. I grew up with hamsters and they fought like crazy. The females were mean and were only nice when they wanted to mate. They are solitary animals.

No. Never do this because hamsters are very teritorial. If they see another hamster they will fight to the death and trust me, it is very hard to break up and it is bad for the hamsters health (and you won't be so happy either when your hand starts bleeding when you try to break it up). But what you can do is let the two hamsters run together in thier play balls. I do this all the time with my two hammies. Hope I helped and have fun with ur hammie.
