  1. Some Uro species are strictly herbivorous, but even those that do eat some protein, eat very little of it. What does the beardie pellets consist of? Check the nutritional info on the back. If there is any protein, then feeding that to a herbivorous animal can kill it! Please buy proper food for your animals.

About the water, most desert-dwelling lizards, like beardies, hardly ever need water. Most of the needed moisture would come from fresh veggies anyway, so they would not need to drink. And he would only get in the water himself if he is shedding, usually. The water helps get the old shed off quicker. But otherwise, of course he would use it if he needs it. He just doesn't need it very often.

Edit: Mali-uros will not be harmed by protein, but it definitely should not be fed in heavy amounts as regular food. Iguanas are also herbivorous, so their food should be safe. Actually many people feed them this. But this should not replace fresh veggies completely.
