  1. my router has not been turned off in probably close to a year

    no problems at all

  2. never heard of it

    its relatively low voltage

make sure the router is clear and the ventilation holes are not blocked - cat hair and the like

    You can vacuum it out

Routers look impressive but if they are opened up its only one wafer in a box'

make sure the router is out in the open , the ac adapter is the correct one , and the ventilation holes are free and open

never heard of a router catching fire

  3. no. not unless you douse it w/ lighter fluid and drop a match

  4. It shouldnt do, they can overheat if youre using hacked firmware and have changed the output settings but you should be ok otherwise

  5. um no modems and routers do are not suppose to get hot many people leave them on for months without a reboot try keeping it in an open area and get dust of both units i never herd of a overheating router
