I have had a new set of frames with the same prescription - slightly different than my previous ones. Can new frame sizes cause headaches and getting used to?

  1. Yep, the distance the lenses are from your eyes can vary by only a very little bit (new frames can change it) and bam! I get a headache too, and the ground looks all wavy and wonky when I first look down. Also maybe the center of the lens is in a much different place than you are used to. You may adjust, or they may need to be adjusted. I'd give them a few days and then go back and ask the optician about it. Maybe they can fix it for you, or maybe someone made a mistake on your lenses. It happens.

  2. they might need some getting used to..but u should be ok

  3. New frames can definitely cause headaches!

    Try not to wait too long, getting used to them.

    If they are too tight you can easily get migraines.

    Also, if they fall down on your nose, the prescription area on the lens may not be centered properly.

    I would go back to where you bought the glasses and have them checked, maybe adjusted... or go back to your eye doctor to re-check your prescription.

    Migraines can kill a day. :-{

  4. Yes, they sure can especially if they are a bit heavier or the fit is different.

    I'm assuming that you didn't just change out the frames.  You might want to check and make sure you do have the right prescription if this goes on for more than 2 weeks.
