My ex-husband and I have joint custody of our child. My child seems to be under the impression from her father that I am not "allowed" to take her for a haircut and only her step-parent is "allowed" to. Although, she wants her hair cut and she has always been pleased with how her hair has been styled when I take her, it seems to cause her a lot of anxiety when she goes to her father's house and he becomes upset that her hair has been altered. He causes a big scene and takes pictures, calls his attorney, and makes her cry.

We are involved in an ongoing custody dispute. We are involved in family therapy but it doesn't seem to help.

  1. It depends on what the court order says, My court order actually says i cannot take my daughter to get her hair cut. Out of all the issues we had to discuss her mother decided that was an important one. If it's not in the court order then you can.
