Can nonoxynol-9 or N9 (spermicide) cause my bacterial vaginosis?

ive noticed that since ive been using condoms with spermicide that ive had b/v twice in a year and never had it before.i had to come off other birth control and started using condoms.has this any relevance to me getting b/v,and could the chemical cause a miscarriage too

  1. I am afraid anything that interferes with the normal environment of the v****a may disrupt the protective bacteria, lactobacilli, and this may alow more noxious pathological organisms to overgrow and cause either thrush or bacterial vaginosis.

    Spermicides produce a hostile vaginal environment which kills sperm, they don't cause misscarriage.


  2. you should try condoms without spermicide, it's been proven that condoms with spermicide are no more effective than regular condoms.

    i don't think that it could cause a miscarriage.
