I believe so if we can make a good use of the deal and more so we can start working on other alternate fuels aswell which may really overcome our need for power .

  1. At least it is not going to reduce the current generation so why dont you hope for positively that it will be able to generate at least part of the shortage.

  2. If done correctly, not the way of 3 mile Island, Shoreham in Long Island (never went on line) and Chernobyl, I have come to think that nuclear power is or could be the way of the future.  I can't believe I'm saying this.  I was one of the people who was so anti-nuclear power around the time of 3 mile Island and when the movie China Syndrome came out.  But I've grown up and I've learned a lot.  First I've learned that we are going to run out or fossil fuels at the rate we are going and I really don't see the Hybrid or whatever this water BMW car is being able to take the place in time before we don't have any more oil.  I admit I couldn''t sleep the other night and watched Gore's movie, so guess I'm in a state right now worrying more than before, so  I want to believe that nuclear power can work and we can do it right without blowing a whole through the earth

  3. sure

  4. abt 20% of the current energy requirement.hey!!!that isn,t so less too.common,we need it.go to rural maharastra and see.

  5. Yes. There will be great vaccume between demand and supply of power within few years.  Nuke deal will solve the problem to a great extent !

  6. Dream on! Who says all the good folks of the world won"t use it to Bar_B_QUE each other!

  7. In my opinion,no,No any deal can solve the any problem only right implementation can solve.

Dr.Abdul Kalam yesterday told at Jodhpur(Rajasthan),that India has Uranium for next 10years,and having rich resources of Thorium which can use for power energy, just have to develop the system.

But we are going to depend to others, others always use dependency for there benefits only.

So many other options are there ,but no,we please other.

If other benefits are there,as association with America and Group8.I don't know.

    -Sudan

  8. Partly yes. Energy independence is now India's first and highest priority. To address this critical challenge, the base of the country's energy supply system has steadily shifted from non-renewable to renewable sources as well as towards development of nuclear energy sources.

Nuclear energy today only meets 2%of India's Energy demands. Also most of our nuclear reactors are running out of fuels.

So when Nuclear deal is implemented, India can set up civilian Nuclear power plants and more importantly uninterrupted nuclear fuel from countries.

Also through the capital involve din setting up a nuclear power plant is high, its life cycle is high, generation cost is low so is the maintenance.
