  1. If both her parents are O blood type there is no way she can be their biological child and have any blood type other than O. O is a recessive allele meaning you must have two for O.

Likewise an AB parent can never have an O type child. And if one Parent has O they can never have an AB.  These are the only two types that exclude each other. (A and B types can come in multiple forms (two of the same or one of the blood type and one o allele))

  2. It is hard to say:

The way it works is each individual gets an allele from each parent.  Some are dominant (A and B alleles) and some (O alleles) are recessive.

Therefore someone with type A blood could either have 2 dominant alleles (AA) or a dominant and a recessive allele (AO) and still have type A blood.

This must be the case with your wife's family.  Your wife's sisters received both O alleles and your wife received an A (which is always dominant over the O)

    Blood Types:

    A - AA or AO

    B - BB or BO

    AB - AB only

    O - OO only

If your wife's parents are both O that means that your wife is either adopted or has a different father.  Someone with type O blood can only give an O allele to a child.

  3. Not possible.  Two O+ parents can only have O+ or O- children.

  4. A is dominant and O is recessive. That means if both parents are O then they have 2 O genes. Are you sure her father is really her father. My cousins where raised by their step father since they where small and they didn't tell them until they where 15 and 16 years old.

  5. I don't belive this is possible. One of your wife's parents have to be an A+ for her to be A+. Two O+ make O+.

  6. No.

An (A ) parent and an (O) parent can produce kids who are either A or O, but two O blood types cannot produce a type A child. It is physically impossible. Two O  blood types can only produce other O types.

How do you know these blood types? Any chance there was a mistake made somewhere? It happens sometimes...

  7. I'm not sure I have A+, my husband has A- and both of our children are O-. You would think that it could be possible.

  8. my sister and her husband just had a child and they both are O+ the baby came out A+
