Can one go and have surgery while collecting New York State Unemployment and still collect benefit's?

THere is nothing in the rules that prevents you from getting medical care while you are receiving worker's compensation. The only time it is an issue is when you are asking them to pay for your surgery. Then it becomes more complicated and there are a lot of rules about that.

Sure but they won't pay you for the time you are laid up.
