I hit 250 yards using a "lefty" driver and I'm much more effective using a "right-handed" putter than the oposite.

  1. I play right handed, but putt better lefty. If you wanted to, you could carry a right handed Driver, 5 wood, 5 Iron, and the rest be left handed clubs. As long as you only play with 14 clubs or less, you are within the rules. I would advise against 7 Drivers and 7 putters though.

  2. Which  side of the body you use has no bearing with any rules, just the number of clubs. Although you might win a few dollars betting folks you can outdrive them with you other hand.

  3. Not against the rules so you may do it.

  4. Yes, I'm also a Lefty that putts right handed

  5. Hi

yeah it is totally legal, as long as you do not exceed the 14 club limited. ive never tried it though, maybe i should try putting left handed hehe.

  6. it is not unusual for a player to put with the "opposite" hand.

You must have no more than 14 clubs.  There is no restrict on type.  You can carry 3 drivers if you like.

  7. Yes you can have clubs of both dexterities. I play with a LH 3-iron incase i'm in the trees and have a difficult lie with my back against trees or shrubs... i pull out the LH club and hit away.

  8. Easy answer- yes.  Several pros on tour have putted opposite handed.  Mac O'Grady has played in PGA events from both sides of the ball.

  9. Im a caddie at my local club and ive caddied for ALOT of different people. Some people carry a left handed 5 iron to get away from a tree or obstruction: Even more people carry the opposite handed putter because they just feel more comfortable. The rules dont care about you clubs, you could have 7 left and 7 right handed clubs and it wouldnt make a difference.

  10. yes, you can play golf with alternating hands as long you don't go over the 14 clubs limit.  I was pair up with a couple that the woman play right handed but put left handed.

  11. It is legal. The only rule states that once you address the ball, you must remain right or left handed.

  12. The USGA does not restrict the "handedness" of clubs. You have two options.

    1.  have a mixed bag of left and right handed clubs or

    2. do the "Tiger Woods" trick of hitting your right handed clubs upside-down. (he did this with a bad lie next to a tree, hitting a RH 5 iron upside down and swinging as a leftie.) It landed on the green, of course.
