  1. well, that's two different questions really.  an ante is a forced bet that is put in and collected before any other round of play.  An ante cannot be raised.  A blind is a forced bet in certain poker games like holdem or omaha, and that bet can be raised in the first round of betting.

  2. It's a bit of a confusing question.  But the general answer is regardless of the ante or blind you always have the option to raise.

  3. As others have stated there is a difference between an ante and the blind.  Would invite you to read the following parts of Holdem betting strategies.

    Poker requires two forced wagers ( per round ) called the Big Blind and Small Blind. When the action comes around to you in a clockwise order, you are presented with one of four options:

        * Bet - If you are under the gun, you place an amount of chips equal to the Big Blind. This goes into the pot.

        * Call - When you call, you match the total amount of what the previous bettor wagered.

        * Raise - A raise requires you to first match what another player ( as in calling ) wagered. Subsequently you can "raise" to whatever amount you choose. The amount is up to you.

        * Fold - Folding is dropping out of a hand. Nothing to win. Nothing to lose.

    There are five reasons why you bet in texas holdem:

        * To get more money in the pot.

        * To drive other players out.

        * To bluff (or semi-bluff).

        * To get a free card.

        * To gain information.

  4. the ante is a "forced bet" by everyone at the table and can not be raised. the blinds are forced bets and there are two different type of blinds. the first is the small blind (SB) and the second is the big blind (BB). the SB is half the size of the BB and these are forced bets to amke sure there is money in the pot. the blinds are the first two people left of the dealer. you have to either call the BB, raise - which is atleast the same size of the BB (ex - if the blinds were 20/40, and you wanted to raise, your raise would have to be to atleast 80 - 40 which is the BB and 40 the min raise which is equal to the BB), of you fold your hand. after the flop, turn and river, if someone bets, they have to bet atleast the size of the BB and any raise has to be the size of the bet (ex blinds 20/40 person bets 50 after the flop, anyone that would raise would have to make it atleast 100) depending on what type of game you are playing will determine how much you can bet and raise. a fixed limit game means you can only bet so so much and raise that same amount. a no limit means just that, you can bet as much as you want and raise as much as you want, then there is pot limit meaning you can only bet as much is in the pot and your raise can only be the amount in the pot. if pot size was say 200, you can bet up to 200, now pot would be 400 and someone can raise the size of the pot. so again antes can not be raised but the blinds can be raised.
