Try watching the show High Stakes Poker on GSN.  You'll see people winning more money in a few hours than you make in a few years.

So yeah, I'd say good players can.  Why else would they play?

If there is a tournament, there is a prize and there will be a winner! There are hundreds (or more) of poker tournaments every day in live casinos and even more online, thousands of them. There are even a lot of Freerolls for big money at some sites.

Someone will wiin each one. At one site where I play there are several daily tournaments with thousands of dollars in prizes and there is a winner each time, lol.

It takes skill, experience and some luck to win at high stakes poker in tournaments, but it is done every day!
